5 Points Little Free Library
Studies have shown that lack of access to books can have a significant impact on learning and development. According to an annual report released by the Little Free Libraries organization in 2019, adding books to a home environment can have significant and positive effects on child literacy. The report states that a child who comes from a home with just 25 books will, on average, complete two more years of school than a child from a home without books.
The 5 Points Little Free Library is located at the Boys and Girls Club on McConnell Street. Books are for the entire community, not just the kids!

Meet Me In The Square
Meet Me In The Square started as a summer program giving 5 Points kids a source of positive engagement, building self esteem, and every week exposing them to and sending them home with age appropriate books. Now that the little free library is in place, we will also be working with the Boys and Girls Club during the school year doing weekly reading/engagement days until it’s time to start outdoor Meet Me In The Square events again next summer.
If you would like to volunteer to help with Meet Me In The Square or be a guest reader, please reach out and let us know!
